Darla's Saleen (F1)'s Story...
Saleen has made many improvements since joining her foster family a couple of months ago. She is now crate trained! House training is next on the list but we feel she will be a fast learner with patience and consistency. She also knows the commands sit and off and she sits for her food at mealtimes. She has also learned to gently take treats from your hand. She loves people and attention and plays well with other dogs. Saleen has a bounty of energy and will enjoy a home with lots of stimulation and affection. She has also been around cattle but has not been trained to work as a herder.
She is now about 8 months old and weighs 20lbs. We do not expect her to grow much larger. Saleen loves to play with other dogs and has enjoyed stomping in the water puddles the spring rain has left behind. She let two 11 year boys bath her today and with very little bribery she stayed in the bath tube. Saleen just ignores the cats and adores other dogs, all of them.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Darla's Saleen (F1), a White Settlement Blue Heeler/Border Collie puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Blue Heeler/Border Collie for sale in White Settlement, or seeking a Blue Heeler/Border Collie puppy from a breeder in White Settlement.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in White Settlement already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a White Settlement breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Blue Heeler/Border Collie breeders who help with Blue Heeler/Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in White Settlement paves the way for another one to be saved.
