Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Wow! on the sweetness scale, Jake is a 10! He is friendly, loving and calm - you couldn't ask for a nicer dog.
Only a year old, he is so mellow he even welcomed advances from a small child at his first adoption event.
He is good with other dogs of all sizes too. His breed mix is up for guess - some see Basenji, others Whippet, whatever it is produced a dog with a lovely temperament.
We don't know Jake's background as he was brought to the shelter as a stray with ribs showing. His Dusty Paws foster mom pulled him on Thanksgiving Day. He is a smallish dog, only about 20 pounds and will need to gain at least 5 more. Jake is a super easy dog in foster, easy to walk, has never marked in the house and is house trained using a doggie door. He is good with his foster sister, Empress. He doesn't seem too interested in food, except for persimmons. He loves persimmons and would rather eat a persimmon than a piece of chicken or steak. He's getting better about eating but is definitely not a chow hound.
