My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello. My name is Babette. I’m 6 years old and I weigh about 45 lbs.

I was found as a stray in the Wellsville area in horrible shape by a nice guy who took me home with him. He tried to find me a new home, and that seemed to be working. The new family took me to the vet and spent lots of money on making me better. It seemed to be going well except for one teensy weensy problem… Their dog and I didn't really get along, so it didn't work out. The guy that found me worked a lot and was very rarely home so he wasn't able to keep me either so he brought me here to the pound so I can find a new home.

I was still very thin when I arrived at the pound. I was missing a lot of my hair from my hind end. I had a few long skin tags hanging from me as well as several smaller ones. On top of everything else, it is apparent that I have had way too many litters of puppies in my lifetime… I guess when I couldn't produce any more puppies, I wasn't useful to my owners any longer so they took me and dumped me off on that back country road. Thankfully someone else cared enough to stop and pick me up.

I have been at the pound since December 2014 and I would really love a new home soon. I am getting depressed at the pound. I spend most of my days laying curled up on my bed rather than sitting pretty in the front of my kennel when people pass through like I used to.

I am a very pretty girl now. My hair has grown back in. I have been spayed and I have had the skin tags removed… now all I need is to find a new home.

I am a great girl and I promise to behave myself the best I can. I am happy and friendly with people! I love to play fetch and I am also content just playing with the toys by myself.

I seem to be completely potty trained, although the pound always tells people to expect a couple of accidents while I learn your schedule and you learn mine.

I used to get along with other dogs but since I have been here for so long, I have been having trouble getting along with the other dogs. Because of this, it would probably be best if I go to a home with no other dogs.

If you’re looking for a beautiful, sweet dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me.
I appear to be in good health, I have been given my Parvo/ Distemper vaccine and I have been dewormed with panacur dewormer. I had been spayed and I had all of my skin tags removed while I was being spayed.

PLEASE CONSIDER THIS DOG, AS WELL AS ALL THE OTHER DOGS AT OUR SHELTER AS URGENT. OUR KENNEL SPACE HERE AT THE POUND IS VERY LIMITED. THIS DOG COULD BE EUTHANIZED WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE ANY TIME AFTER DECEMBER 6, 2014.

BABETTE IS FULLY SPONSORED FOR ANY APPROVED RESCUE TO PULL.

HERE AT THE COLUMBIANA COUNTY DOG POUND, WE TRY VERY HARD TO PLACE ALL OF OUR ADOPTABLE DOGS IN TO LOVING HOMES OR SEND THEM TO GREAT, APPROVED RESCUE GROUPS, HOWEVER, WE CAN ONLY KEEP OUR DOGS HERE AT THE POUND AS LONG AS SPACE ALLOWS. MY ADOPTION FEE IS $110 CASH, WHICH COVERS MY SPAY SURGERY (WHICH MUST BE DONE PRIOR TO ME LEAVING THE SHELTER), MY PARVO/DISTEMPER VACCINE, RABIES VACCINE, DEWORMING AND MY CURRENT OHIO DOG LICENSE WHICH WILL BE HONORED THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF OHIO.

THE POUND IS OPEN MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY FROM 8 AM- 4 PM AND SATURDAY FROM 9 AM- 12 PM. WE ARE CLOSED SUNDAYS AND HOLIDAYS
