My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Ted.

I am a 6 years old neutered male.

I am house trained.

I am also crate-trained.

I play with kids (ages 5+) who are not intimidated by my size.

I like playing with medium to large dogs. Smaller dogs? I am uneasy with smaller dogs but, I am certainly not aggressive with them.

I know how to sit, shake, leave it, and come.

I do know how to walk very well with a leash called “Gentle Leader”.

I am not like other dogs who like to counter-surf, I’m too dignified. But that does not mean I won’t sit and stare at a cookie sitting on the counter. Since I won’t steal the cookie on the counter, I really hope you’ll give it to me for being a good boy!

I LOVE toys! The unstuffed toys are the best because I will destuff them for you to clean up. Give me any unstuffed toys and I’ll be grateful because I use it as my security blanket, especially when I feel a little nervous at times. I have no favorite toy, which will make it easy for you to buy for me.

I like to play tug and I will play fetch with other dogs but, I’d prefer not to give the toy back —- it’s my security blanket.

Here is what my foster momma wants to say about me:

“Ted might be 6 years old but, he has the heart and soul and the play drive of a 2 years old. He will bring you a toy and drop it in your lap and if you don’t throw it or play with him, he will keep nudging it and then paw at you a time or two. If that doesn’t work, he will turn his butt around and literally sit on your lap. Silly boy!

He can be very vocal at times. Sometimes it’s for no reason, like he sees a shadow, hears a noise, or when left alone at first. Sometimes there is a reason, say someone is knocking on the door. He will also run up to the television, barking at it whenever he sees an animal on television (while happily wags his tail the whole time). I am working with him on redirecting his attention so he stops. He also has a little bit of separation anxiety, which is understandable, because he was surrendered twice.

Due to his surrender-anxiety, I have been doing a slow introduction into my home, he has made big improvements on his anxiety. He can be needy but, he surely loves attention!

Ted has received a clean bill of health. He does have a mole on his leg that he currently licks but, the vet said to put hydrocortisone cream on it.

I believe Ted benefits from eating a grain-free dog food.

I also believe he’d greatly build up his confident, via a good dog training class with his forever owner.”

Now that my foster momma explained things about me, I am anxiously waiting for my forever parent to adopt me. I promise to bring you my unstuffed toy as a way to steal your heart.
