My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Watson. I was born on September 2, 2013. I am up to date on my shots and am heart worm negative.

So here I am, this adorable one year old Schnauzer living in a foster home in Louisville, Kentucky. One might ask how I got here. Well this is my story. I belonged to an elderly woman who had Schnauzers her entire life. When her last Schnauzer crossed the rainbow bridge, she got me. Now I was just a puppy and she was 80 years old at the time. I think she loved me but I was a little too much for her to handle.

Sadly, she would turn me in to the local humane society then change her mind. She did this several times before the nice lady at the humane society convinced her it might be best if I was adopted by another family. This nice lady contacted Schnauzer Rescue Cincinnati/Florida and my foster mom came and picked me up.

So my foster mom says I should tell you about myself. As stated above, I am currently in foster care with three other Schnauzers (sometimes there are five other Schnauzers). I love to play, play, play with these guys. That’s not to say that I’m a perfect little guy.

I didn’t get out much as a young pup and as a result, I am a little under socialized. In addition, my unstable living situation has caused me to have some anxiety when meeting new people and dogs. The trainer my foster mom is working with says this is something I can overcome with patience, stability and exposure to other dogs and people.

The trainer says I’m a really smart guy and eager to please, but until then would probably be better suited to a home without children. I am working on my leash skills and love to go for walks with the other pups in my house. After walks, there is nothing I love better than to snuggle up next to my foster mom and my other Schnauzer friends.

All I’m looking for is a forever home to make me feel safe and loved. I’m very loyal and very loving and would love to become a part of your family. So if you are looking for a wonderfully adorable Schnauzer who has a heart full of love to give, please consider adopting me.
My adoption fee is $300
