My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

An application must be completed, before we can schedule a meet and greet. Louie is still available for adoption if you can see this posting. Apply here at: http://welcomehomedogrescue.org/adoption/application-to-adopt-a-companion/

Louie is a beautiful 8.5 pound toy poodle. He was born in 2011 and is 3 years old. Louie is good with dogs and kids. He needs an family who is willing to put in the time necessary to train and groom such a beautiful dog. Poodles are non-shedding dogs with hair that needs to be regularly trimmed.

Louie was surrendered by his owner, who was unable to spend the time needed to train him. He originally came from an abuse situation, which is how he lost his right eye. Despite being bounced around, Louie is a happy fellow. He is affectionate and smart and loves to be around his people! He is learning house training and basic obedience. His foster family has two young children whom he adores. He would be a great companion for a retired person or for an active family who likes to bring their dog with them on outings.

Louie's non-refundable adoption fee is $300. All dogs are fully vetted, microchipped, spayed or neutered and up to date with vaccinations. He is currently in a foster family with young children in La Mirada. The application is the first step before we can schedule a meet and greet.

Our adoption process looks like this:

1. Adoption application review by WHDR board
2. Adoption application approval
3. Meet and greet
4. Home safety check
5. Final approval and adoption finalized

Our volunteers, donors and adopters mean the world to us! Without you, we couldn't do what we do - saving the lives of abused, neglected and abandoned dogs and providing them with a loving forever home.
