Kelsie and Tabitha are very pretty Tortie siblings with distinctive markings.  They were rescued from a high-kill shelter when their time was up.  We don't know much about their background other than they were found as strays and fending outside for themselves when they were just wee babies.  It's amazing that they were even able to survive!  Both girls are sweet but are on the shy side so it will take some time for them to warm up to new people.  Living on the streets often teaches cats to be cautious and careful around strangers in order to protect themselves from danger, and that instinct may stay with them long-term if not socialized at a young enough age.  Please don't let that deter you from giving these precious girls a chance.  Once they do warm up to you, they will show more of their true colors and are total hams personality-wise.  They are very playful and love to chase each other, wrestle and bat around toys.  They enjoy being loved on and receiving affection, but sudden movement or loud noises may startle them.  They don't mind being held once they are comfortable with you, but Kelsie prefers it to be for a short amount of time whereas Tabitha is fine for longer periods.  Tabitha loves to snuggle up to your neck and make biscuits while you hold her, and she will scoot in as close as she can to soak up the loving.  Kelsie goes nuts for back/tail scratches and will lean into your hands so that she can get as much petting as possible.  They do pretty well with other kitties once they have been properly introduced, but in true Tortie fashion, they can show a bit of attitude if a cat gets in their space too much or tries to steal their food, but they aren't aggressive about it.  They would do best in a home without young children due to their timid nature, but a cat-friendly dog may be okay depending on size and demeanor.  Both girls are spayed, tested negative for Feline Leukemia/FIV, microchipped and current on vaccinations - DOB 6/9/14.
