My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

INGA and KATIANA are pretty little black-and-white sisters about a year and a half old. They came to the shelter as kittens, with their brother, who was friendlier and was readily adopted. They had all been living in someone’s backyard without much human contact. The two girls were shyer and were not too keen on trusting humans. They have matured into two sleek, good-looking, lively young cats, who run and jump and climb and eat.

They are living in a smaller and quieter room, with other young cats, and get along just fine with them. They tolerate being patted, and even being picked up a little, although not without some protest, preferring interaction on their own terms.

A few months ago, Katiana broke her femur, as a result of her acrobatics. Now she is all healed up from her surgery (“femoral head ostectomy”), and she runs and jumps and climbs again. She might be a little lopsided on one side but nobody would notice, and it doesn’t bother her at all. She is a little friendlier now, from being handled so much during her treatment.

Inga is still a little skittish, but stays close to her sister. Both come to investigate whenever food is offered.

These two girls would like to stay together. Their socialization is still a work in progress. They might do well in a household which already has some (tolerant) feline residents, and this might help to boost their confidence. Let’s get these kitties adopted!! Anyone who is interested should come on over and have a look at them.
