Hello! Bella here!

I have really been coming out of my shell since I have been with my foster mom.

At first all I really wanted was to snuggle up next to my human or meet new dogs, but now I have discovered toys. My favorite toys are flat skunk, stuffed hedgehog and my bright pink cozy squeaky kong oh and definitely antlers. I love to chew on antlers!

I will often throw the toys for myself, stare them down, pounce on them then flail them around. Apparently foster mom thinks it's quite hilarious and entertaining. If she calls me over though I am happy to lay down and receive a good ear scratch or belly rub.

While I like to romp and play with my toys, foster mom says I show my brightest and happiest colors when I am with other dogs. When foster mom takes me to new places I am quite reserved and a little unsure, but if another dog is with me I am much more confident and ready to explore. She tells me she is looking for a home for me me where I will have another canine companion as that is when I am most content.

Please check out our adoption policies and contact my foster mom Lindsay if you are interested.

Here is a note from my Foster Mom:

Bella is a great, compassionate girl. She is loyal, well manored, rides well in the car, and has good recall. She is reserved meeting new people but warms up once her ears are scratched. She gets along well with the young and the old. She is not pushy when meeting new dogs and is not aggressive.

She has a very sweet and gentle soul about her. She just needs some help from her new human and new canine companion to teach her to have some more self confidence in new places. Bella adjusts the quickest when she has a fellow canine companion by her side.

Please let me know if you have any questions about this very sweet girl.

Woof! Woof! Bella here!

I am originally from West Virginia. A lady found me and my brother Tucker hanging out at a garbage dump. She took me in and found Midwest Border Collie Rescue to care for me.

Last week I traveled from West Virginia to SE Michigan. I have been adjusting well and am spayed and up to date on shots. I am quite the lover and LOVE to be petted. I like to slowly put my front paws up and rest my head on your lap. I am not pushy about it just gentle and am really getting used to being part of a home.

Foster mom says she is proud of me because I have not had one bathroom issue in the house! I also will go into my crate when asked, it isn’t my favorite place yet, but I am quiet and know that is where breakfast and dinner are served.

My foster mom wonders if I have a voice yet, apparently the only noise I make is a small moan when I am soundly sleeping.

I enjoy meeting new dogs, big or small, mail or female. My ears perk right up and my tail wags fast. I am a calmer dog though who doesn’t go crazy playing with other dogs, but I do like to flirt with the boys.

Since I have been a stray mom thinks I am a little malnourished so we are working at taking things slow and putting me on a good diet, vitamins etc. My energy level is lower right now, but that could change once I have been on a healthy diet for a while and get in better shape. I do have no problem mustering up extra energy to chase after a squirrel though. SQUIRREL!

I am cautious and reserved in new situations, but adjust well, especially if there is a new dog to meet or a new human to pet me.

As I am adjusting I really just enjoy being by my human’s side and being reminded that I am loved. When foster mom calls me, I eagerly run up to her side.
