Loki is a great dog who needed a little extra work before he was ready to go to his forever home, so he was chosen to be part of the very special Rebound program!
The Rebound program sends selected shelter dogs for training by inmates at the Sanger B. Powers Correctional Center in Oneida. These specially chosen and trained inmates work with FVHA's expert, Carol, to provide approximately 12 weeks of individualized training and socialization for the dogs. Upon completion, these very special dogs return to the shelter all ready for their big second chance at being adopted by a (very lucky) forever family.
Although Loki is not available for adoption quite yet, he will be soon and you can complete the application process while you wait. That way, when you meet him you will be a step ahead if you decide you would like to apply to adopt him. Also, watch the FVHA Facebook page for announcements, because periodically the Rebound dogs come to visit and show off their progress!!
