My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

2014-12-06: Hello Everyone! We’d like to introduce Dallas 5, a stunningly handsome purebred chocolate lab. He just turned 9 years old, but at 65 pounds, he is in GREAT shape and has received a clean bill of health from his vet. Dallas has a beautiful shiny coat that is super soft and velvety. His prior family gave him up after 9 years, saying that they just didn’t have the time for him anymore. But we are so thrilled to have scooped this boy up because he is a great catch!

Dallas is the perfect combination of energy and calmness. He can be playful, but for the most part he’s an independent fella who will keep himself busy with his toys or napping throughout the day. He does well on a leash and loves his walks! It may take him a few days, but once he warms up to you, he will ask for head rubs and greet you every morning or when you come home with a smile and wagging tail. Dallas has an easygoing personality and gets along with other dogs. He is fine around young children, but we want him to be adopted by a family with older children or no children.

Dallas is completely house trained and crate trained. At night he actually prefers sleeping in his crate. He knows his commands and executes them well. Dallas is treat motivated and a quick learner. He’s well mannered with regard to human food when you’re around, but when you’re gone (and only when you’re gone), beware because he will counter surf to see what goodies he can get his paws on. Talk about a smart one!

Dallas rides well in the car without a peep. He would enjoy dog parks and beaches, but he also does well just relaxing at home and is very low maintenance. He will make a wonderful addition to a loving home. Contact your family rep if you’d like to welcome Dallas home this holiday season!
