My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Callie: 11-month-old spayed female yellow lab mix 65 lbs
(and still growing)

Meet Callie an 11 month old female lab mix. This big goofy girl was found roaming the streets in the south bay and was picked up and taken to the Humane Society. The Humane Society contacted Lab Rescue and now she is currently staying with a trainer learning some basic obedience and manners. Since Callie was found on the streets we don’t know much about her past but being with a trainer she is quickly learning how to be a well-behaved, obedient dog.

UPDATE from Callie’s Foster/Trainer says: Callie has learned a lot while staying with a trainer. She went from not knowing anything to now being a very well mannered pet. She can heel, sit, and down even with distractions! Her training has come very far although it still needs to be practiced every day! Being young she loves to play with all sizes of dogs, talk about a great dog to take with you to the dog park! Callie is crate trained and does well supervised in the house. She really loves to play ball, go on hikes, and over all enjoys life! She would do well in a home with an experienced owner who can continue to work with her on training and manners. We do not recommend she be with young children as she may mouth or knock over a small child. Callie is young and has lots of love to give but with that she is in need of lots of exercise and structure. With the help of a leader this girl will be a great addition to someone’s life!

What Callies’ Rescue Rep says: Callie is a fun-loving, sweet and special girl. We are looking for a home with an experienced owner who is committed to continuing her training (Callie would really shine in obedience classes) and giving a young active pup all the exercise they require to be good canine citizen. A tired dog is a good dog. With Callie’s size (she is still growing) and zest for life a home with children over the age of 8 is ideal her. Callie is healthy, current on shots, and micro-chipped.

Callie is currently with a foster/trainer in Geyserville.

If you are interested in Callie, call Rescue Rep Jennifer 650-430-5357 (please text or send email: dekker3073@aol.com).

(Please keep in mind we are all volunteers, most of us work full time and we all have personal lives. I do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient and I will be back in touch with you. When the dogs are in foster homes then it may take longer as we need to touch base with the fosters for updates on the dogs. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week and we do not have a facility that we keep the dogs housed in. They are scattered all over the Bay Area.)
