Ellington is a male Havanese mix approximately 2 years in age. He is a stocky boy weighing in at 16 pounds full grown. Ellington has been professionally groomed and is quite a handsome boy. His snow white coat is curly, soft, and non-shedding. He has a big black nose like snoopy and a mellow, gentle temperament. Ellington is great with children, other dogs, and even cats. He has a heart of gold and is one of the sweetest, kindest dogs we have ever met. Ellington is quiet and rarely barks. He can be playful with other dogs or with toys and he can just as easily hang out in a doggie bed, mellow as can be, and watch the activity around him. His play is always gentle, never rough or crazy. Ellington walks easily on leash and rides silently in the car. He is well behaved in public and loves to join his people on outings. Ellington can sometimes be shy in new situations and relies on his trusted people for comfort and confidence. He will stick close to your side or even gently put his paws up on your leg asking to be carried and snuggled safe. Ellington was brought in stray to a very high volume/high kill shelter where we rescued him. He was in a sad state of neglect and we would guess his previous life was rough and unkind. However, Ellington has remained as sweet as pie and deserves so much better. He is a healthy dog and ready for his new forever loving family today!

Ellington’s adoption donation is $425 (*TAX DEDUCTABLE). He has been NEUTERED, MICROCHIPPED, VACCINATED, DEWORMED, DEFLEAED and PROFESSIONALLY GROOMED. Also included is his collar with ID, harness, leash, folder with all of his records, a great PETCO coupon book, and a fun goodie bag with toys, etc.

Ellington is being fostered by Pet Match Rescue Foster Volunteer, Vince and is ready for his forever home.

You may meet and apply to adopt Ellington at our ADOPTION EVENT on SATURDAY, DECEMBER 20th from 12 Noon - 3:00 at PETCO in IRVINE located at 15333 Culver Dr., Irvine, CA 92604. (Our event is held INSIDE of the PETCO store.) adoptpetmatch@gmail.com

Why Adoption is a Great Option

ELLINGTON, a Newport Beach Havanese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Havanese for sale in Newport Beach, or seeking a Havanese dog from a breeder in Newport Beach.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Newport Beach already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Newport Beach breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Havanese breeders who help with Havanese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Newport Beach paves the way for another one to be saved.
