Farrell is a male Havanese mix only 1 year in age. He has been professionally groomed and currently has a very short haircut due to severe matting and neglect upon his arrival to the shelter. Farrell has a beautiful, non-shedding coat of soft gray with charcoal gray and brown accents. When his coat grows out it will be gorgeous in coloring and lovely long waves. Farrell is a hefty, solid, bigger guy weighing in at 22 pounds full grown. He is friendly, fun and delightfully playful. He loves attention from people, the more the merrier, and he can also rock and roll at the doggie park with the best of them. Farrell loves to be out and about doing things and he soaks up life. He adores being part of the family, included in daily life and having new experiences. Farrell is good with children and should make a fun, interactive companion. He is smart, learning easily. Farrell has most likely never had a home before, or not much of one. He was brought in stray to a very high volume/high kill shelter in a shocking state of neglect. We have truly never seen a more matted and un-cared for animal. (See last picture.) Poor Farrell remained jolly and upbeat despite his awful condition. It was his wonderful spirit that we noticed right away and when you meet him you will see it too. Farrell should have a life where he knows love and good care. He is a beautiful dog and should make an outstanding pet. Please come meet him, you will fall in love! Farrell is healthy and ready for his new forever home today.

Farrell’s adoption donation is $425 (*TAX DEDUCTABLE). He has been NEUTERED, MICROCHIPPED, VACCINATED, DEWORMED, DEFLEAED and PROFESSIONALLY GROOMED. Also included is his collar with ID, harness, leash, folder with all of his records, a great PETCO coupon book, and a fun goodie bag with toys, etc.

You may meet and apply to adopt Farrell at our ADOPTION EVENT on SATURDAY, DECEMBER 13th from 12 Noon - 3:00 at PETCO in IRVINE located at 15333 Culver Dr., Irvine, CA 92604. (Our event is held INSIDE of the PETCO store.) adoptpetmatch@gmail.com

Why Adoption is a Great Option

FARRELL, a Newport Beach Havanese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Havanese for sale in Newport Beach, or seeking a Havanese dog from a breeder in Newport Beach.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Newport Beach already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Newport Beach breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Havanese breeders who help with Havanese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Newport Beach paves the way for another one to be saved.
