Spanky's Story...
Say hello to Spanky, 8 year old black and white Rat Terrier mix looking for his new leash on life! This handsome guy's idea of a perfect day is relaxing at home on a nice comfy bed with his favorite person. He is great with other dogs and calm kids and wouldn't mind having a furry buddy to keep him company. He is very smart, enjoys walks, and does really well on a leash! He ADORES treats and is very smart; he already knows how to "sit" for a cookie! Spanky is neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on his vaccinations, and heartworm negative. He is also house-trained and crate-trained though may need some reminders in a new home. If you're looking for a mellow guy to add to your family, look no further! We're open every day from 12-6 so come visit him at our Waggin' Tails Adoption Center in Benbrook today!

**Help our homeless pets in need and SAVE on your adoption fee! For the entire month of December bring in a 16+ pound bag of PurinaOne pet food and receive 50% off any adoption fee!!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Spanky, a Benbrook Rat Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier for sale in Benbrook, or seeking a Rat Terrier dog from a breeder in Benbrook.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Benbrook already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Benbrook breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier breeders who help with Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Benbrook paves the way for another one to be saved.
