My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

GSRSV is placing six 4-mo old (born 8-13-14) purebred black GSD puppies for their owner. The pups and both parents are located in Reno, NV, so it will require a long drive in order to meet these dogs--unless you live in Reno or the Lake Tahoe area.

There are four females and two males available for adoption. Rose, one of the four female pups, is pictured here. A male pup was adopted on 12-6-14, and his adopters rave about him! The pups are all healthy, have received all three of their "puppy shots" (distemper/parvo vaccinations), and have been dewormed twice. They are active, inquisitive, and quite large for their age.

Venus, the owner of the two parents, King and Annie (see pictures below those of the pups), planned to breed the pair in a year, but the dogs got a jump-start on that plan. The timing was awkward, as Venus was just getting ready to move, recently started school, and doesn't have much time for the puppies. She has tried to find homes for the pups on her own, but is nervous about the kinds of people who have responded to her ads and wants to ensure that the pups go to loving homes where they are allowed indoors and are treated as members of the family. Venus contacted GSRSV for placement assistance with the pups, and I met the pups on 12-4-14.

Both King & Annie are AKC-registered. King is approx 100-105 lbs, and Annie is approx 60-65 lbs.

None of the pups have been spayed or neutered yet, but getting that done by the time they are 8 months old will be a condition of adoption. The adoption fee of $300 will include the cost of having the pups spayed or neutered for as much as the Sacramento SPCA would charge for the surgery. (See http://www.sspca.org/index.php/program-services/spayneuter-clinic/spayneuter-fee-schedule/ for the SSPCA's spay/neuter fee schedule.) If the adopter has the dog spayed or neutered at a different veterinary facility than the SSPCA, GSRSV will reimburse the adopter the amount that it would have cost to have the dog spayed or neutered at the SSPCA. Adoption will also require a $200 spay/neuter deposit, which GSRSV will refund once the dog is spayed or neutered.
