My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

When we first met Aros to do the evaluation, he was living with his owner in a pick-up truck. His owner had lost their home five months previously and knew the two of them could not continue that way throughout the colder weather. The homeless shelters don’t have room for pets, so he wanted to be sure Aros would find a good home before he went to a shelter himself. It was a case of loving his dog enough to let him go.

Aros has done very well in his foster home and quickly adapted to using a crate as his den. He was very quiet and low-key at first, and we knew he was missing his special person. As the weeks have gone by, though, Aros has been showing us his playful side. He enjoys running after a ball or stick that is thrown for him, but he’s still working on the part where he brings it right back to you. He loves it when you fill his Kong toy with yummy snacks and will eagerly take possession of it and diligently clean it out.

He enjoys meeting people and making new friends, and he’s comfortable around other dogs, loves to go for walks and doesn’t pull on his leash. What he likes best, though, is to be with his people. He’ll sit against you or lie down on your feet…basically as close as he can get. He’ll try to distract you by putting his head on your lap and looking up at you with his deep, dark eyes when you’re working at your computer or reading.

He’s a pretty mellow guy and is looking for that forever home where he can settle in and become your best buddy. If you’re looking for a dog to love and are prepared to receive double in return, Aros may be the dog for you!
