My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lola is the sweetest little girl! She just happily accepts whatever is going on and trots along beside you. She loves everyone and everything and is good with other dogs, cats and kids. She is a tiny little thing and was a bit intimidated by the big dogs but was still very good about it. She loves to snuggle and cuddle with anyone. She enjoys meeting new friends and is a just a very happy-go-lucky kind of girl. Lola is young and approximately a year old, currently weighing 15 lbs.

Here is what her foster family had to say:

Lola is a little doll! She is just the cutest and snuggliest pup. She is friendly with everyone we meet and everyone wants to stop and pet her or have a little chat with her. Her little short legs are adorable as she waddles along. She is not overly curious and doesn't have to get into everything or know what is going on all the time. She totally trusts her family and just goes along with whatever we want to do. She is great with my son and would be wonderful in a home with children. She is also fine with the cats. We have two in the home and for the most part she ignores them although she and our younger cat have been having some games of chase lately but I think that is because my other dog doesn't like that particular cat. My old guy she just ignores. Lola has a wonderful temperament at the moment and she should go to a family who will continue to love her but who will treat her like a dog and not a baby so she stays the sweet girl she is. She is such a cuddler as I stated and so loveable and sweet.

Lola is well on her way to being house trained. We continue to take her out often and she rarely has accidents. She just needs to learn to signal us. For the most part she is very low energy but she still has her little bursts of puppy energy and then it is time to have another snuggle. She walks fairly slow on leash as she has short little legs but I would describe her energy level as moderate for her size. She doesn't seem to shed but that could be due to her age and the time of year but her coat is lovely and don't believe she will be a big shedder regardless.

We keep Lola crated at night and when we are going to be gone for long hours during the day (which is not often). She is fine in the crate with no issues. She is generally a very quiet dog in the home and I am sure she would be fine for apartment living. We don't have a backyard but we do take her out several times a day for a little walk and a pee. She is a smart little dog and has escaped her crate three times but didn't get into anything. She is far too short to do any counter surfing or to get into much trouble even if she wanted too.

On our walks she is fine with everyone she meets including strangers of any description and other pets. She just says hi and then merrily walks on. She is still a puppy and although she knows her name, she doesn't know much else in the way of commands. She is just such an easy keeper that there hasn't been any issues with needing to reprimand her at all. She is still a puppy though so it would be good for her new family to teach her some things. Overall though, she is pretty well behaved and quiet in the home. The Rescue Team took Lola to the Pet Valu show on the 13th so many may have seen her there. She did very well with everyone but after about two hours she was wanting to nap. She is still a puppy and needs her little power naps at times.

Lola is just a lovely little dog that will make any family happy to have her. She will fit into just about any situation where she is loved and where there is someone that will snuggle with her and allow her to cuddle with them. She could do with some further training but as she is, she is a wonderful little companion. She would do well with respectful children and other pets are okay too.

If you think you would like to make Lola a part of your family, please submit an application for consideration.
