My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

✰✰ HOLLY, Female six months of Age and #AVAILABLE – For more photos of HOLLY please click http://www.norcalbcrescue.org/holly.html ✰✰

HOLLY is a gorgeous female border collie, approximately six months old. This girl is an easy-going, joyful pup. Classically and beautifully marked, she will probably mature to about 40-45 pounds and will have a medium-rough coat as she is just now starting to get her “feathers” and mane. Her coat is super soft and her ears feel like velvet. HOLLY’s markings are almost completely symmetrical over her whole body and she has the cutest freckles on her white nose and belly.

HOLLY is an extremely loving and kind puppy and has shown no aggressive tendencies or troubling personality traits. She’s still barely small enough to hold and hug in your lap – which she loves – but won’t be for long. She loves to snuggle up to her humans and eagerly introduces herself to anyone else she encounters, showing them calm and affectionate acceptance. Little Miss HOLLY melts the hearts of all those who meet her, so we think whomever sees her first will snatch her right up. She would do best in a forever home where she would have a close connection with her human(s), so she can be cherished as she deserves and continue with her training to be the best border collie she can be.

HOLLY is having fun playing with all kinds of doggie toys and even likes to gather them up in a pile now and then. She doesn’t seem to have had much obedience training yet, but is very smart and easy to train, is treat motivated and always responds to correction well. Her verbal recall still needs work, but she comes immediately when whistled for. We suspect she may have been a ranch pup without a lot of structure, as she’s getting used to being on a leash and the rules of being inside. She has done very well in a short time with house-training and does perfectly fine as long as she’s taken outside regularly. Presently she enjoys the company of her two host sisters and gets along with them very well and has quickly become one of the pack. We do not have any cats, so a careful, pre-introduction would be necessary before adoption if applicable. HOLLY sleeps contently and quietly all night in her crate and rides in a car with or without a crate quietly and without any issues.
HOLLY is micro-chipped, neutered, heart worm negative and on preventative, and up to date on vaccinations. If you have an approved Northern California Border Collie Rescue & Adoptions Adoption Application (http://norcalbcrescue.org/adopt_info.html) and wish to enquire about WALLY, please email us at Adoptions@norcalbcrescue.org. If you have an approved adoption application with Border Collie Rescue of Northern California let us know and we will request it be forwarded to us for consideration.

HOLLY is being fostered in Redding in Shasta County, California.
