I am purebred.
Miss EffieLou was one of the Kansas Seven chihuahuas we pulled from a kill shelter in western Kansas. She came to them as a stray. When she first came to rescue, it took her just a day or two to settle in. Now she is friendly and sweet. She is great with the other dogs in her foster home. We think that EffileLou is about three years old and she weighs 6 1/2 pounds. Effie is now spayed, up to date on all shots, heartworm negative, on heartworm/flea preventative, is microchipped and has had a dental cleaning. Her adoption fee is $200 with all vet work done.

much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a House Springs breeder,
or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for
a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of
You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home.
In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who
help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten
adopted in House Springs paves the way for another one to be saved.
