This special dog is called Happy Buck. He is a dog that you reminisce about when you sit around the dinner table talking about the best and unique dogs you have had in your life. He is a devoted and dear soul of a dog that is a Mountain Kerr/Lab mix, weighing 70 pounds and a perfect age of 2-3 years. This big baby would scare off a stranger if they walked up to the porch. He loves to lay there every day, but he really only has the heart of a gentle giant. He would never hurt a fly. This boy showed up one day at an older couple's home and just wouldn't leave. He seemed destined to stay and beg for their love and food. They couldn't turn him away. The couple lives on a busy street and a kind woman they contacted decided that she needed to help Buck find a place before he met with a fast car and a shortened life story. We are desperately trying to find this boy a wonderful family who will love his easy going demeanor and devotion to just "hang on the back porch" and wait for that reassuring pat on the head every day. Buck is one of those dogs that loves life and all the creatures that God has created. He coexists and ignores the cats, plays well with other dogs and loves human attention. Buck is leash trained, will sit, shake and could learn other tricks easily. He loves his chew bones and a good belly rub. We know that there are families out there that would love a big-ole-hug from a boy like Buck. He is ready to join that perfect family who has time to give him attention and not put him away in a pen or on a chain. Buck is a special dog and we are looking for special people to adopt him.
