Facts about Hank

  • Breed: Pointer/Pit Bull Terrier Mix
  • Color: White - With Brown Or Chocolate
  • Age: Senior
  • Size: Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
  • Sex: Male
Hank was neglected and abused then dumped at the local shelter with a broken leg and a severe staph infection. When we saw Hank at the shelter, he was in terrible shape, but he still came to the front of his kennel and wagged his tail and gave us kisses. We knew that because of his health issues he would be euthanized in a day or so, so we took him to the ranch. He scratched non stop and hobbled along with his broken leg. Our vet put him on antibiotics and told us to leave the leg alone, it was an old injury that was never fixed. Today, Hank no longer scratches but does still hobble. We adore him here but he's ready for a new home to call his own. He is housebroken, crate trained and loves to play with other dogs. He is affectionate and obedient. We believe he is younger than he looks, but are guessing he is 6 years old.

About Stray Dog Ranch

About Our Rescue Group...

Stray Dog Ranch is a haven for rescued dogs until permanent homes can be found for them. Our mission is not only to rescue dogs but to help educate the public about the overpopulation and untimely euthanasia of so many of "man's best friends".

Since we there are many homeless pets in rural, southern Oklahoma, we have many reputable rescues that we transfer dogs to.

We are a 100% volunteer, non profit, dog rescue. We have no paid employees and have been rescuing dogs "on our own dime" for many years. We rescue dogs from rural shelters in Oklahoma and Texas, as well as the many dogs we find along our rural roads. Two of our long term goals are to be able to sponsor spay/neuter clinics in rural areas and increase public awareness to help decrease the overpopulation of pets.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We do adoption events throughout the year but are not scheduled anywhere on a regular basis. We are always willing to have potential adopters meet our pets at our place, their place or an agreed upon meeting place.

Our Adoption Process...

Fees range from $150-250 for adoptions of adult dogs and puppies. An adoption application is required as well as an adoption contract.
