Verona's Story...
Wanna Play? Wanna play? Run Run Run Run RUN!! Hi there! My name is Verona and I am just a bundle of puppy energy. The vet’s at the shelter where I came from originally thought I was a year and a half old, but my foster mom says I act like I’m no more than 6 months or a year old. I am just always ready to play or chase or chew just so long as I get to GO GO GO!! I get along great with the other beagles here, even when my foster brother gets cranky with me, I just brush him off and go about my business. I LOVE to chew, and my favorite thing is my Nylabone. I will carry it all over the house (and outside if they’re not watching closely enough hehehe). I’m really good about leaving the people things alone, as long as I have a good dog thing to chew. I love going for walks, and as long as I’m on a harness, I don’t pull very much. I am totally crate trained, I stay in there all day while the people are at work and at night without so much as a peep! I’ve almost got the house training thing down, but I’m not very good at telling you I need to go yet, so you have to watch close. Foster mom says I’m smart as a whip, and very food motivated. In fact it only took me 2 days to figure out that I needed to go sit in my crate to wait for my food, and that I had to sit outside before I could get to come in. Foster mom says this is a good thing, she wants to nickname me Kanga because I jump so much when I get excited. I can jump really high too! When I jump by the door, my nose is the same height as my foster moms!!! If you’re looking for a young gal who’s got the puppy energy but not all of the puppy naughtiness, I’m your girl!!!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Verona, a Pittsburgh Beagle puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Pittsburgh, or seeking a Beagle puppy from a breeder in Pittsburgh.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Pittsburgh already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Pittsburgh breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Pittsburgh paves the way for another one to be saved.
