My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

An application must be completed, before we can schedule a meet and greet. Gucci is still available for adoption if you can see this posting. Apply here at: http://welcomehomedogrescue.org/adoption/application-to-adopt-a-companion/

Gucci is an adorable 5 month old Old English Sheepdog puppy. He's cuddly, fluffy and full of puppy energy. He was abandoned at 3 months old in Korea. Animal lovers there knew that he would not be likely to find a home in Korea, where they prefer very small dogs, so they sent him to the United States to find a forever home.

Gucci is good with dogs, cats, kids and is very friendly. Old English Sheepdog males typically grow to be 80 pounds. At 5 months old, Gucci is 35 pounds. He is smart as a whip and is already learning basic obedience commands and house training.

This breed of dog does requires plenty of exercise and training, along with regular grooming. They will develop a beautiful shaggy and long non-shedding coat, but many prefer to keep the coat trimmed in a short easy to maintain puppy trim. Gucci would be great for an active person who has the time and willingness to train him.

Gucci's non-refundable adoption fee is $500. All dogs are fully vetted, microchipped and up to date with vaccinations. He is currently in a foster family with young children in La Mirada. The application is the first step before we can schedule a meet and greet.

Our adoption process looks like this:

1. Adoption application review by WHDR board
2. Adoption application approval
3. Meet and greet
4. Home safety check
5. Final approval and adoption finalized

Our volunteers, donors and adopters mean the world to us! Without you, we couldn't do what we do - saving the lives of abused, neglected and abandoned dogs and providing them with a loving forever home.
