My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Billy is a Pomeranian we rescued out of a high kill Northern Florida shelter. He is estimated to be about 2 to 2.5 years old. He may be a pure bred Pekingese, but we have no paperwork and no knowledge of his history. As usual for this breed, he has crooked teeth and his eyes will require daily lubrication to keep them healthy. He has seen an eye specialist for dogs in Tampa who has given Billy a clean bill of eye health. It appears that Billy does not like big dogs, but he gets along famously with little dogs. He also lives with cats with no problems. Billy is not an active boy. He is more the laid back and rest type. He is looking for a quiet home to relax in. Since he is still a young dog, we are looking for people who can provide a forever home for another 12 years.

ARF'N primarily adopts only to residents in the counties surrounding Hernando County in central Florida or within a 60-90 min. drive from the Brooksville/Spring Hill areas. The reason for this is that we personally conduct home visits for each of our rescued pets to ensure they are getting a safe home.

The application can be found here: http://www.arfn.org/adoption-application/

Email questions to: info@arfn.org. We do not have a phone number to reach us.

Our adoption fees for dogs range between $150 and $250. All of our pets come completely vetted (spay/neuter, vaccinations, heart worm tested, on heart worm prevention, and a microchip).

ARF'N is a rescue operated by volunteers with full-time professional jobs during the day. We can't always get back to you immediately. Most of our rescue work happens in the evenings and on the weekends. It can typically take up to two weeks to go from application to adoption. More time is required for pets with multiple applications. We do not adopt on a first come, first served basis. We find the best match between pet and adopter. Please be patient with us through this process.
