My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Scarlett's story starts at the Memphis Animal Shelter. She was about 2 years old when she landed in the shelter. Her time was coming up fast so the shelter reached out to the local rescues. One rescue came to the shelter to meet her but they decided not to take Scarlett because she had heartworms. When Hearts of Gold heard about Scarlett, we were heart broken for her so we took her in but she had to go to boarding as we did not have a foster home opening. She was such a good girl and she deserved a chance.
Four months later she had good luck on her side, a foster family came available for her. Her foster mom went and picked her up. She was such a huggie girl. All she wanted to do was get in the car and leave. She even sniffed out which car was her foster mom's. She sat down at the car door and looked back at her as if saying let's go, I'm ready. She sat down in the back seat. She has obviously done this before. She was a good girl the whole 35 minute ride to Southaven.
Scarlett has been with her foster family for 10 months now. Scarlett is now heart worm NEGATIVE. We treated her for heartworms so they are all gone. She gets along with the foster brothers and sisters. She is dog selective so she has to get to know the other dog very slowly. She loves to hang out with her foster sister Wren and foster brother Joey. They play very well together.
Although Scarlett relishes her mommy and daddy and me time, she would love her own family to be the center of attention. She is a great girl to take on rides and lay on the couch with. She even watches TV when it is on.
