Finnley's Story...
Hi there my name is finnley. Aren't I the most handsome pup you have ever seen?! I am a sweet older puppy, who has a lot of love to give. I am around 10 months old and the folks here at the shelter believe I have some Great Pyrenees and Retriever in my bloodline, meaning i will be large sized as an adult. I am looking for a loving home of my own after the rough start I had. I am considered a Special Needs adoption do to the fact that I cannot hear. This means I will need someone who is willing to spend extra time helping me learn hand signals. If you think that you might be up for the challenge please stop by and speak with one of the adoption counselors. Hope to see you soon. Before making the trip to visit the shelter we strongly recommend checking our website for information on adoption policies and procedures. Please understand that because we are a busy place and because so many animals need our care and attention, adoptions are on a first come basis and no animal will be put on hold, we appreciate your understanding and look forward to your visit! To inquire about a pet's availability or for more information please PHONE the shelter (978-283-6055 ex 10 for reception desk) instead of sending emails

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Finnley, a Gloucester Great Pyrenees dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Great Pyrenees for sale in Gloucester, or seeking a Great Pyrenees dog from a breeder in Gloucester.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gloucester already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gloucester breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Great Pyrenees breeders who help with Great Pyrenees rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gloucester paves the way for another one to be saved.
