Poptart's Story...
Just in time for the holidays! Poptart is an adorable 10 week old kitten looking for a forever home! She came to us with her two sisters, who are also available for adoption. All three are healthy, friendly, and playful. They would do well in most homes. We prefer that our kittens are adopted in pairs, or go to a home that already has a playmate to keep them company.

Adoption fee is $135 and includes up to date vaccines, deworming, FeLV/FIV testing of one kitten in each litter, and spay/neuter. Email jakrivero@yahoo.com or text 925-667-7701 for more information. You can fill out an adoption application at www.BigDawgsRescue.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Poptart, a Lafayette Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Lafayette, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Lafayette.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lafayette already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lafayette breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lafayette paves the way for another one to be saved.
