My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I am a 1-year-old spayed female Australian Shepherd mix. I weigh about 54 pounds. I am a very sweet and docile girl, and I love to give kisses! So how did I end up looking for a new home, you ask? Well, here is my heart-wrenching story. Unfortunately, my original owners never bothered to get me spayed, so I ended up getting pregnant! Oops! Once they noticed my belly getting rounder & larger day by day, I guess they decided they couldn't take care of me or my soon-to-be puppies, so they dumped me at a local high kill animal shelter and left. Being pregnant at the pound is no fun. And to top it all off, I was absolutely terrified. Because there are so many stray dogs out there, the vet at the pound decided that I should get spayed rather than have my babies, which were imminently approaching birth. So off I went to have surgery & that was the end of that. I was feeling pretty sad about my situation, but then CageFree came along and decided to rescue me & take me under their wing! They brought me back to their facility to recuperate, while they work on finding me a perfect home of my very own.
Even after all I've been through, I'm still extremely loving, mild mannered and affectionate. I love getting pets and cuddles, and I also get along well with other dogs!
