Polly's Story...
Polly is a super sweet older girl. If you want a lap-cat and a cuddler, this is your girl! Polly was found in early 2007, covered in sores and almost bald. She could not eat or see - her eyes were crusted shut - and she was on the verge of death. She has been in foster care for almost 18 months and is perfectly healthy and a joy to hold and cuddle. She has plush, soft short fur and is about 8-9 years old. Polly prefers to be a single cat without dogs or other cats but can get along with them (she lives with dogs and cats right now and does fine). Polly likes children but would be perfect in a 1-cat home with an older person who wants a very affectionate companion.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Polly, a Elkton Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Elkton, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Elkton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elkton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elkton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elkton paves the way for another one to be saved.
