Sampson's Info...

I am already neutered, up to date with shots, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Sampson's Story...
It is true. I have fallen like an Olympic god down to the land of mortals. Oh, how the mighty have fallen! To the East and to the West I see only emptiness. Woe, o, woe is me. Dramatic? The world is asunder around me and you suggest this is dramatic frivolity? Can you not see this poor, desperate, adorable, and well-mannered lap-warmer has love to share with you? I’m just a meek and affectionate little champion that loves other dogs, chases cats for fun, and lives best with respectful children 6+. Are there no words that might prompt you to assist with my future aspirations of becoming a mighty companion to you and yours? Is it too much to think that I may be the flame to light your darkness? That I may impress you with my crate training? That I have the cold, wet nose to quench your burning yearning for love? I would tear down the walls of the Colosseum to secure your happiness—all I ask is that you walk through the door and inquire about mine. 3 years old-9lbs. My adoption fee is $180 and includes neuter, microchip, reduced-cost training class, free veterinary exam, 1 month pet health insurance, leash/collar, food sample, toy & treat packet.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sampson, a Portland Basenji dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basenji for sale in Portland, or seeking a Basenji dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basenji breeders who help with Basenji rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
