My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Here comes Honey Boo Boo! My name’s really Honey, but foster mom gives all of us nicknames, so now I’m Honey Boo Boo, or just Boo for short. I have a bit of a checkered past. I was turned into a Central Illinois shelter as a stray about four years ago. I was adopted a couple months later by a new mom, but the following year she abandoned me at a boarding facility. I turned up as a stray again at the same shelter a few months ago. My foster family can’t imagine why a sweet dog like me is having so many troubles. I’m not a runner, and I don’t “stray” at all. I’m a super good dog in the house. I’m trusted with run of the house, and only have had a few accidents that happened when I was left alone. I’ve been left so many times, I wasn’t sure anyone would come back! But they did, and I’m much better now.
I absolutely love to sit on laps. I could do it 24/7! My foster family has members who are at a nursing home, and I love to go visit and get lots of attention. I’d be a fantastic therapy dog, I’ve heard them say.
The absolutely best thing that’s happened to me since I’ve been here is that I have a new BFF. Her name is Lucki and you can find her on this same page. She came about a week after I got here. She’s the same size as me (20 lbs.) so we do everything together. We can both fit on one lap at the same time, so we like snuggling. When we walk, we go at the same pace. We can even wear each other’s clothes! If you check out my pictures, you can see us sleeping together. We don’t have to be adopted together, but it sure would be nice if I have to move again, that I could be with her. Do you have room for 1 or maybe 2 little girls? Paws crossed!
