My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

***ADOPTION PENDING***

Meet Karitsa. Karitsa a lovable and stunning 3 year old Kuvasz. The name Karitsa means 'lamb' in Finnish and this girl truly resembles a lamb with her curly white fluffy coat.

Karitsa is a fun loving girl who is looking for a knowledgeable home for this breed. She is up to date with her vaccines and spayed. Karitsa is great with dogs of all sizes and would love to find a forever home with another 4-legged friend. She loves to play with other dogs and also likes to hang out with her people once her energy is used up.

Karitsa is an active girl who needs a home with a fully fenced yard to zoom around in as she has energy to spare and loves to be outdoors. She also has the tendency to dig in the yard so her forever home will need to keep an eye on her to ensure she behaves while in the yard. Karitsa enjoys belly rubs and needs to be with her people or she will feel left out and will vocalize her opinion of being left out. She is non-destructive, housetrained, and crate trained. Karitsa will also vocalize when put in her crate, but that is for a short period then she resigns and sleeps quietly. She can also be vocal when doing her job of protecting her home; including any person or animal within the household.

Karitsa needs a home who is experienced with the Kuvasz as being quite stubborn is typical of the breed. Experience with the Kuvasz will enable her new home to address this trait correctly, as if not dealt with appropriately Karitsa may become increasingly stubborn. Once she builds the trust with her new home, all her funny quirks are well worth it and her love is immense. She truly is a fun dog to have for the right home. Because of Karitsa’s size, a home with older children will be best as she may unintentionally knock over a small child. She will also need regular grooming to ensure her fur does not tangle and become matted.

While in foster care, it was found that Karitsa has a pelvic bladder which will require 2 different medications at a high dose to correct her incontinence. Since Karitsa is a large girl, the cost for both medications will be approx. $150 per month. We have recently began her medication treatment and have been told by the vet that there may be a chance that her incontinence may resurface in the future, yet so far it has been working to the desired effect. Because of her condition, Karitsa has been deemed as a special needs girl in need of an understanding and patient home.

Karitsa is truly a beautiful girl with a heart of gold that so deserves a family to call her own. If you're looking for a loyal companion to enhance your life, Karitsa is the girl for you. You can fill out the adoption/foster application on the left, or you can email anmlresq@hotmail.com if you have any questions.
