I'm a 1-year-old spayed female Field Spaniel mix. I weigh about 21 pounds. I quite the playful, outgoing & friendly gal. I absolutely LOVE every person I meet & get along fabulously with other dogs as well. I'm a happy-go-lucky girl without a care in the world. I just want your love & attention, along with lots of toys & a few trips to the park, and we'll be pals for life! My glowing demeanor would never lead you to believe that there's a bit of a sad story lurking in my recent past, but there actually is. I had a family before, and I was feeling quite secure, thinking that they loved me & that we would be together forever. But little did I know that wasn't the case. One day, without warning or reason, my family dropped me off at a high-kill city animal shelter. It was the shock of my life! I had always been a good girl. Why me? But there was no explanation given. So I decided I had no choice but to move on. I waited patiently at the pound for someone to adopt me, wagging my tail & smiling at everyone who walked by my cage, but more than a week went by and nobody chose me. I've heard that black dogs have lower adoption rates & higher euthanasia rates than other dogs, so I started to get really nervous about what would become of me. And then I got the fantastic news that CageFree was going to rescue me!!! I'm such a great girl, with an amazing temperament & a zest for life. I really never deserved to be abandoned in the first place. I'd love to find a new family who is looking for an adorable pup to spoil.
