Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Tanner and his sister Layla were found by shelter volunteers dumped in the middle of nowhere on a country road in rural McFarland, north of Bakersfield. The duo was found in the nick of time. It appeared they had already had an encounter with a coyote, as Layla had bite wounds - one on her back required stitches and a drain. Dusty Paws responded to the shelter's plea for rescue, and we now have two of the world's sweetest pups.
The pups are about 5 months old as of December. Tanner is the larger of the two and the one who most resembles a Pointer (albeit a mini one). At present he is still a good size to fit on a lap. He is part some smaller breed, possibly Jack Russell Terrier.
Despite their rough start, both pups are well adjusted and happy. They are fostering in two separate Dusty Paws homes. (Layla is recovering well from her wounds and will be up on the website soon).Tanner gets along fine with his foster mates, a young adult female and a large male dog. Tanner has a very loving, sunny disposition and loves to play. He rarely barks.
Tanner is a puppy and only just beginning training. He is a smart little boy who will be wonderful addition to a family.
