Once in awhile a dog is surrendered by its owner for truly unfortunate circumstances and it breaks everyone's heart: the owner's, the rescue director's and the dog's. That is Parker's story, surrendered by a family who loved him so deeply yet fell on hard times that forced them to give him up, and we can't imagine their pain of letting him go. We have made the promise to find him a new family who will pick up where they had to leave off. We are looking for a very special home where Parker will be cherished and forever protected. True to his Poodle heritage, Parker loves everyone -- dogs, kids, adults -- to him the whole world is a friend!! He will go to anyone and will want them to pet him, scratch him, or sit on their lap. He may jump up with glee, but, at 10 pounds, he makes such a gentle, easy touch! Parker has a tail that doesn't stop wagging and an everpresent smile that you can't help but love! He's just learning to play with chew toys and other dogs -- it seemed foreign to him, mostly because it's quite possible he thinks he's human!! And whether it's cozying up to you on the couch, following you into the bathroom or walking right beside you, Parker loves to have human contact; he's just a "People Person". Parker is about 7 years old, he weighs 10 pounds making him somewhere between a Toy and a Mini, and he is a very healthy boy.
