Gracie's Story...
Poor Gracie! She is a small pit, a year old or less. She was picked up by animal control after the cable man called to say that the owners had abandoned the property and left the dog tied up outside to starve.

This little girl is soooooo sweet. She is extremely under weight but has a fabulous personality. She probably weighs 20 lbs at this point so we are working on getting her back to a normal weight! She can be adopted on 4-25-08.

Gracie is not in the main kennel room so please ask to see her when you come in.

Please Note: We have special adoption procedures for pitbulls, Am Staffs & similar mixed breeds. Please contact the shelter for details.

We are Full - If you are interested in this pet please visit the shelter soon! RESCUES WELCOME!

When calling about a particular dog, Please use their kennel # also. Many of these dogs have been named by a volunteer that shelter personnel may be unaware of. Thanks!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gracie, a Anderson American Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Anderson, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Anderson.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Anderson already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Anderson breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Anderson paves the way for another one to be saved.
