My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Joy and it is very fitting for my personality. I’m just a young girl of 10 months old (estimated birth month is March 2014) and was found lost and scared recently. I was turned into the shelter near where I was found and that was a really bad day in my life, but the very next day was a really great day when the volunteers Reggie’s Friends came to meet me and took me home with them. I got to get a much needed haircut and got to see the vet to make sure I was healthy.

Since that big day, I’ve met lots of dogs, people, kids and cats and I get along beautifully with everyone I meet. I just love people and really hope that I get adopted by a family that likes a lap dog. I really need to catch up on my belly rubs and puppy hugs.

I’m a poodle, 18 pounds, white, apricot and fluffy. I’m cute and I know it. So far I have realized that I love dog beds, being pampered and looking pretty. I didn’t look very nice when they found me and I don’t ever want to feel itchy and dirty again. I am super friendly with everyone and I’m ready to bring some JOY to your life.

I’m house trained and kennel trained already. I also walk nicely on a leash and ride in the car like a perfect little lady. It seems that I may have been someone’s pet before I got lost and turned into the shelter. I’m super smart and I’m eager to learn more once I’m with my new family. I’m an easy going girl with enough energy to go on nice walks, but I really would prefer to be a lap dog and hang out with my new friends all day long.

I’m already spayed, fully vaccinated and microchipped too. I’m currently being fostered in Houston, Texas and my adoption fee is $250 if adopted in the Houston area. I am available for out of state adoption too because I can be flown to your area via United Airline’s Pet Safe Program. If adopted outside of Houston, my adoption fee is $450, which will cover my adoption fee, airline flight, travel crate, kennel bed and required health papers to travel.

If you are interested in a sweet, little, fluffy sweetheart…I’m all you need. An adoption contract and adoption fee must be paid prior to her departing Houston. If you are interested in learning more about Joy, please email us at adoptions@reggiesfriends.org or if you think she’s the next member of your family, please go to our website www.reggiesfriends.org to download an adoption application.
