This little bundle of joy is Chico! He's a little camera shy,  but wait until you meet him. He has  adorable little ears that stand up. What a cutie he is. Chico was returned to ACT after having been adopted out to a wonderful older lady that needed his company. Chico served as her loyal companion for years. He was her alert dog (untrained).  Unfortunately, Chico's human had to be moved into an assisted living center and Chico was not allowed to go with her. Through no fault of his own, Chico is now looking for his second chance at happiness. Chico would be great with a family with lots of love to give. He would also be excellent with an older adult or couple. As you can see from the photos, he gets along well with his fellow small dogs but does not require a companion animal - as long as he has plenty of time with his people. Chico is now around 8 years old. He has lots and lots of wonderful fun loving years left in him.  He loves car rides and going for walks with his friends. Chico is house trained and he loves to snuggle under the sheets with you at night. Call his foster mom anytime i f you would like to set up a meet and greet.

About Animal Compassion Team of California

About Our Rescue Group...

The vision for ACT has been brewing in the minds of the Animal Compassion Team founders for many years. The paths we have walked have prepared us and tested our determination through hard work, buckets of tears, mountains of fecal matter (a favorite topic of discussion amongst animal rescuers), and more then our fair share of discouragement and heartbreak. Having said that, why would we choose to dive in deeper? For the love of the animals we serve. It is just that simple. Dogs, cats, and other wonderful animals are dying in huge numbers daily. We hope to help change that. In August of 2009 we became a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation with the state of California and the Federal Government. It was, and continues to be, a huge leap of faith for all of us who already feel overwhelmed by the work we are doing but we believe this is the time....this is what we have all been preparing for. One life saved makes all the effort and emotional investment worthwhile. This is going to be an exciting journey and we hope to post MANY happy endings. New animals arrive daily......stay tuned .....we have only just begun!

Our Mission Statement:

To provide a safe haven for domestic animals, regardless of breed or species, through rescue, rehabilitation, adoption and sanctuary. To advocate for the humane treatment of animals and promote the human-animal bond. To educate the public about the importance of kindness, compassion, and responsible pet ownership which will emphasize spaying and neutering. To cooperate and work with other animal rescues and shelters towards the goal of becoming a no-kill nation.
