My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This unique and handsome looking guy is Duke. He is a 5 year old Basset Hound and Lab mix. He has the energy of a Lab all compacted in the short and stocky body of a basset hound.

After spending the majority of his life living tied up outside, Duke contracted heart worm disease, which comes from mosquitoes. He has since been treated and recovered from but will need to be on heart worm prevention year round to help protect his sensitive heart.

Duke needs a home with a strong and experienced owner that will help him overcome the trauma of his past and help him understand that he is now in a safe place. He will need space to run and play and burn off his energy. A home with no children or cats and he would prefer to be the only dog. If you have it your heart to give this guy a chance and show him what life as a dog is supposed to really be about, take a moment to meet him, you just may be the person he has been waiting for!
