Shelby's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and not good with cats.

Shelby's Story...
Shelby is a 2-3 year old lab mix, possibly with border collie. She is spayed and up to date with shots, she will be microchipped before adoption. She gets along GREAT with Zeke, the resident male lab who is very submissive, but not Jenny who is the dominant female in the home. Therefore, we would prefer she go to a home with a playful male dog or a home with no other dogs. NO CATS, she has not hurt one, but we feel she might if given the chance. She has had no issues with people at all, but we don't know about kids younger than 11. She is probably too active for young children. She would do great with a fenced yard or a family who does a lot of outdoor activities. If you are interested in Shelby, go to www.hubbardshounds.com and submit an application. NO PHONE CALLS!

Adoption donation is $200.00

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shelby, a Homer Labrador Retriever/Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Border Collie for sale in Homer, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Border Collie dog from a breeder in Homer.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Homer already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Homer breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Border Collie breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Homer paves the way for another one to be saved.
