Buck's Story...
Happy, active, young border collie looking for a home. Buck came to BrightSide after timing out at another shelter. We are glad to have this energetic boy. He is approximately 2 years old and weighs 37 pounds. Today he chased balls as long as the volunteer would throw them. On some days he returns them just so he can do it all over again. On other days, he wants to play keep away with the volunteer. Buck is not good with cats and we don't know yet if he might be OK with other dogs. He is certainly curious and wants to greet all the dogs he meets along the trail. He is affectionate and very much treat motivated. Buck makes good eye contact and knows to come and to sit. Obedience training with this boy is certainly recommended. And Buck would love it. If you think you have room in your adult home (he is a very busy boy) and heart for an affectionate, active boy then please contact us about Buck. He's a great dog. Adoption applications are available (1) online -, or (2) email request to or (3) at BrightSide Animal Center in Redmond, OR. Adoption fees include spay/neuter, current vaccinations, microchip, free veterinary wellness visit the first week and a month's free pet insurance.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Buck, a Redmond Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Redmond, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in Redmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Redmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Redmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Redmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
