My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Joey is a kind and gentle 9 year old male purebred Border Collie. He is a beautiful dog that is traditionally marked black and white with a semi rough coat. Joey came to our rescue program through no fault of his own. He is another sad victim of the economy and was relinquished by his owner.

Don’t let Joey’s age fool you, as this dog is in beautiful shape and has plenty of get up and go. However, he does have a turn off button and with his calm demeanor, he enjoys being around children. He rides well in the car, is housebroken, leash trained, and loves to go for walks. Joey would make a nice introduction for those who have not owned a Border Collie.

Joey would make a nice family dog, so please open your heart and home to him. He is BFF material and is looking for his special person to forge a bond with and to cuddle up with on the couch.

BCIN takes in more than a fair share of the senior BC's and it is fact that adoption rates for a 5+-year-old in a shelter are reduced significantly. Joey will be adopted under our senior program, which means our adoption fee is significantly reduced, so he can find a loving home to spend the rest of his golden years.

Please open your heart and home to adopting a senior. BCIN takes in more than a fair share of the senior BCs, as it is fact that adoption rates in the shelter are reduced significantly once a dog reaches 5 years of age. BCIN was Joey’s only hope from being shelter bound at Christmas and we made an emergency space for him in our rescue program. Joey will be adopted under our senior program. This means we reduce our adoption fee significantly so that he can find a loving home where he will spend the rest of his golden years.

If you are interested in meeting our dogs, please go on line and fill out an adoption application. We require a pre-approved application to be on file before any meet and greets are scheduled. The electronic application can be found on our website at http://www.bordercolliesinneed.org/border_collie_rescue_and_adoptions/adoption_application.html
