Scruffy's Story...
Scruffy is a 19 pound bundle of sweetness. He is a Shih Tzu of a handsome black and white and is about 2 years old. He is housetrained, very gentle and quiet and loves to be with his people. Scruffy is a cuddlier and will snuffle in your face but not lick. He waits for permission to jump up on a lap or will lay quietly at your feet. He gets along well with other dogs, cats and is calm and loving. Scruffy is playful, enjoys going on walks and running in the backyard. He loves to sleep with his foster mom he will burrow under the covers and sleeps at the foot of the bed all night. He came to the shelter from a stressful situation and we want to find the perfect forever home. Scruffy is looking for a loving home where he can give and receive love and be cared for as he deserves. He would be better in a home where there are no small children. Are you that special home? If so, contact Stephanie at thehopessteph@gmail.com or call 816-763-5205.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Scruffy, a Overland Park Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Overland Park, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Overland Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Overland Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Overland Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Overland Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
