Here's what the humans have to say about me:
*** Bite History *** Needs Experienced Adopter ***
Please meet Gracie! She is a super cute 3 year old, brindle and white English bulldog. Gracie came into our care from a shelter, where she was surrendered by her family because she did not like the new bulldog puppy.
Please don’t let Gracie’s bite history taint your thoughts of her or scare you off. She is just a wiggly girl with lots of energy and a case of the anxiety bug. She has had a rough go thus far, and she bears the emotional scars to prove it. Gracie is packed with sassy bulldog personality, and has the cutest little face around. She does not have any interest in sharing her love and affection with other dogs, but cats are okay! She wants to give all her doggy love to her humans and because she is so healthy, she can be intimidating to little people. This means Gracie will have to be adopted to an adult only home with no children or other dogs. As part of her anxiety, Gracie does not care for loud voices and can get a little agitated.
Gracie has lots of energy, and as I mentioned she is pack full of bulldog sass. She wiggles her little tush when she is excited, and may even jump on you. For that reason, Gracie will need to attend training and work with a pro to help her gain some better manners. Gracie is taking some Prozac to help with that anxiety and will need an adopter who understands the benefits of helping ease her stress by keeping her on this medication. Her Prozac is very affordable (less than $10.00 a month). This little lady loves to go on walks, she loves to give kisses, and play with her toys. Gracie is crate trained, but would love to have someone who will spend lots of time with her and maybe even keep her in that crate when new people come around.
Because Gracie is so full of pizzazz and spunk it’s important that her adoptive family have bulldog experience and fully understands that bullheaded nature of a little peanut like Gracie, and has no problem letting her know who is truly in charge. As the Foster Director with BBR, I am truly hopeful that someone will give Gracie a chance and hey, if you have questions and want to hear her full story, go ahead and apply and I will give you the low-down on this incredibly special lady. Oh with Summer upon us… it’s important to note that Gracie LOVES the sun and would like to bask in it from time to time.
Gracie is a wonderful, loving, and smart dog! She knows how to sit for treats and she loves kisses. Her favorite toy is definitely the Kong Wubba - she acts like a wild woman with that thing! Gracie loves to go on walks, though she does pull a bit. She is a great companion, and stays right by her foster mom’s side regardless of what she’s doing – Gracie is right there supervising! She loves to sleep in the bed with her foster parents, and likes to lie on her back. Gracie has really come a long way and is very smart and willing to please! She seems to adapt to her surroundings quickly.
Gracie is spayed, house trained, and up to date on all her shots. She did have surgery to correct her elongated palate, and also entropian surgery on both eyes. She will need daily eye meds for the rest of her life.
Please consider opening up your heart and giving Gracie her loving furever home!
