My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Our Kirby is a celluloid character come to life from a Disney wide screen version of a Dickens novel. A portrait of Pathos, this pint sized cutie came to us, only 3 months old, in a cardboard box, from a high kill animal control facility. Kirby and his Mom, Ali, had been found together in a rough part of town, on the wrong, wrong side of the tracks.

When we met Kirby, our collective jaw dropped as we pondered the trauma that imprinted his tiny noggin with a permanent spiderlike scar. Vets have postulated that a burn is the likely culprit, that left baby pink hairless skin in its wake. And, despite such an obvious sign of physical trauma, Kirby has retained the spirit of an Angel.

Kirby is quite the character now that he is 8 months old. He has a joyous curiosity about everything, and pulls all those dopey puppy moves on dogs much larger than he is, without provoking any rebukes. Everybody loves Kirby! He would be a great choice for any kind of adopter who is prepared to shepherd a youngster through his adolescent years.

Kirby has a spectacular temperment and could easily join a multi-dog or feline home, or family with kids. He's a friendly little guy, who bonds quickly to his loved ones, and greets strangers with eager anticipation. As a young pup, Kirby is not too far along on his obedience work, but has shown great promise in puppy kindergarten. He has alot of potential that a willing adopter can develop.
Kirby has been thoroughly vetted, and is in excellent health, albeit still needs to gain a half pound or so. He now weighs 6 pounds, and would be ideal at 6 1/2 to 7. He has just been neutered, and had dental surgery to remove some stubborn baby teeth that were interfering with his eating. He has been vaccinated for rabies, DHLPP (distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parvo and parainfluenza), and has been boostered as needed. . He has had the 4dx test, and is negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia and anaplasmosis. He has been dewormed, and.
