My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

LEAH HAS BEEN ADOPTED!Leah is an adorable, shy, sweet and gentle 2-3 year old female Sheltie/Chow(?) This little girl is about 35 pounds, so she's a nice medium sized. Leah was rescued after living as a stray for quite a while in small southern IL town. She eluded capture for over a year and it took a lot of effort on the part of many concerned residents to finally save her. She has been in the care of an animal control facility for a few months now and is making great strides and finally learning what it's like to be loved. She is still shy with new people, especially men, and in new situations. She will need a patient and quiet home, preferably with another dog to help bring out her confidence and show her the ropes! She needs a loving home to show her what it's really like to be a dog! She is good with other dogs and with a little TLC and patience, she'll make a great companion. She is currently awaiting rescue/adoption from an open-intake (kill) shelter in southern IL. They have all fallen in love with her and have done what they can, but a loud, hectic shelter environment is no place for her. Since they are open intake that have to take any animal that walks in the door. They have kept her as long as possible, but are quickly approaching capacity. She needs to be placed soon. We would love to help her out, but all of our foster homes are filled. If interest is shown in her, Leah can be transported to Chicago. She will be fully vetted and prepared for adoption. If seriously interested in possibly adopting or fostering this deserving little lady, please email Palsplace1@hotmail.com
