Lila's Story...
Meet Lila, a sweet young adult kitty who was found running loose. We were unable to find her owners so she stayed in one of our foster homes until we had room to place her for adoption at Petsmart. While in her foster home we learned that she's great with dogs, loves to hang out with you on the couch (but not on your lap), and she might give you a nibble when she's done being petted. So we suggest she not go to a family with very young children who may not understand.
We've had her spayed and vaccinated, and microchipped so that she doesn't get lost again. The adoption fee is only $40. Donations help us to keep our adoption fees low and allow us to help more animals in need.

She's available for adoption at the Weatherford Petsmart, which is open seven days a week. Please check with the store for directions and hours of operation (817-598-0702). They do not process adoptions the last hour before closing. Adoption fees must be in cash. Please bring a cat carrier with you or plan to purchase one at the store. For their safety, all adopted kitties must leave in a pet carrier. Thank you

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lila, a Weatherford Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Weatherford, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Weatherford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Weatherford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Weatherford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Weatherford paves the way for another one to be saved.
