Here's what the humans have to say about me:
"Ronin" is a handsome 6-yo male GSD who is sweet, mellow, and somewhat hard-headed. Ronin loves being with his person and especially enjoys having his ears rubbed. He is good with strangers and gentle with children--he does great with the 3-yo twins in his foster home. Ronin enjoys the company of other dogs, and presently lives with three other dogs--two female and a male--all who he gets along with. Ronin also appears to do well with cats, as he was in a temporary foster home with several cats for a couple of days and didn't pay them much attention.
Ronin is well-behaved overall, but still has some progress to make. He occasionally marks inside, but that could be due to the fact that he's not yet neutered. (Ronin will be neutered on January 9.) It's also quite likely that Ronin was previously an outdoor-only dog, so he's still learning the rules of being a house dog. Ronin walks well on a leash, though he does occasionally pull hard. He takes treats gently from hand. Ronin does NOT like to be put in a crate.
Ronin will do best in a home where somebody is home most of the time, as he gets somewhat anxious when left by himself--he will dig in a yard. He also needs an owner who is experienced with GSDs, assertive, and willing to provide consistent training. Ronin will also do best in a home with another dog.
GSRSV rescued Ronin from the Martinez animal shelter on November 26. He is in a foster home in Brentwood.
