Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Toma, an owner surrender who ended up in a shelter, was so happy to be in a home again that her first night she couldn't stop purring the whole time and snuggling into my side. I gave her a few days to decompress, but the day I reached into hold her (I was sneaking pats here and there up until this point as not to scare her) she came right for me and only wanted to snuggle more. I ended up having to shave her back since she was covered in mats from the shelter and I expected her to be less than accepting about it, but she purred the whole time.
It's now two months that she's been here, and while she likes to explore upstairs (and lay on the rug in the bathroom in front of the heater), she only comes down on occasion. She is tolerant of my German Shepherd, but only to a point; she does NOT like to be overly sniffed and if pestered too much she will hiss and swat. She meows loudly; to my sister and I it seems like she's yelling for "mom" with how her meow sounds, but only when she's thirsty or hungry. She loves to snuggle with you - and hog the pillow - when you are hanging out in bed or sleeping. Also, she head butts and nuzzles your face when you hold her and gets insistent when you are slacking on your petting. She just loves to BE with you, and she doesn't care how she does that. She allows you to pet her all over, you can clip her nails by yourself without issue, and she loves to sit on your lap while you are multitasking.
Anyone who adopts beautiful Toma is lucky. She's a wonderful family member. I have no idea how anyone could have left her behind.
